Judy and I live in a small community called Tuckers Crossroads about 10 miles east of Lebanon, Tennessee. We live on a 40 acre farm where we enjoy the quiet serenity of country living.
I retired after 30 years as a manager for
BellSouth. Well, I just couldn't stay retired. I am now back to work for a company that I worked for after I retired the first time. The company has a new name now due to a merger. I now work for the Strongwood Log Home Company. I haven't even been there for a week yet and they have already sent me to a log home show in Baton Rouge. My interest include fishing, collecting antique military Mauser rifles, collecting and showing antique tractors and puttering around the farm managing the various wildlife. I have also taken interest in the various wildflowers around the farm. I have pictures of and have identified over 250 different varieties of wildflowers at the farm. In my spare time, I have also found a new interest in stained glass. I created and manage this web page.
Judy works with as an independent contractor for Cracker Barrel Restaurants.  She has been an avid Vanderbilt fan for over 20 years and has season tickets for Vanderbilt football and basketball. She has been a
Commodore Club member for most of that time. Judy will attend almost any sports event she can get tickets to. Judy is also very involved with her church, Cross of Life Lutheran Church. The picture on the left is of the "empty nesters" from the church. We hosted this "empty nester" get-together at the farm. Judy is very involved with the Humane Association of Wilson County where she organizes the PetSmart volunteers and serves on the board of directors. Every Sunday, they take several of the pets from the shelter to the local PetSmart where people can come and adopt them.  Judy also enjoys puttering around the farm managing the various wildlife.
We have no children, but have 10 very spoiled cats, two beautiful foster cats that need a good home, a golden retriever named Riley and a black lab named Murffey.    Our tractors include a restored 1947 Oliver 70 row Crop, a 1953 restored Farmall Super C,  a 1948 Farmall Cub (See the restoration page), and a 1952 8N Ford that I finished for Judy. She got to ride it in the opening day parade at the 2007 Wilson County Fair. See pictures here.

Its Fair time in Wilson county! The 2007 Wilson County Fair just completed. The dates next year are August 15th thru August 23rd.  This year the total attendance was 366,641. That was down a little from last year. I guess it was the heat.  That's Judy and me working the gate on Sunday. We are known as "The Purple Gaters".  Also working the Humane Association of Wilson County booth on the last day. It was a little less crowded, much to our relief! Again I entered my home made beer in the Home Brew category and came home with four first and two seconds. The competition gets tougher every year.  Watch out Budweiser! I have some new brew's to try nest year.  Judy decided she wanted to try making wine. On our first attempt we placed third with a white zinfandel. Way to go Judy! Try to come to the fair, you really will have a good time. People come from all over the USA and even from over seas just to visit the Wilson County Fair. It even rivals some of the great fairs in Iowa, Illinois, and elsewhere. I also carried my 1947 Oliver tractor with my 1935 Oliver manure spreader. At the last reunion we could have used that manure spreader. There were some pretty tall tales being told.  For the last 4 years, Judy and I have been helping with the North American Open Chili Cook-off that takes place at the fair every year. The top 3 Chili Winners and Top Show Team are automatically qualified for the 2007 CASI Terlingua International Championship in Terlingua, Texas.  There was some really great chili this year. When its all over, we take what's left of the top 10 winners and mix it all together. We freeze that and are ready for the first cold day in the fall! Football and chili. Hard to beat.
